Westfields 0 Shifnal Town 1 PAUL Allam was sent off as Westfields crashed to their fourth successive home defeat in the Polymac Services Midland Alliance.
Allam picked up two yellow cards and also suffered a broken cheekbone in the tangle which led to his dismissal.
Lowly Shifnal took advantage of their numerical advantage to score the winner at allpay.park with 10 minutes remaining.
Adam Cain's goal sent the Hereford club tumbling to their sixth league defeat in seven matches.
Westfields started well and should have opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Jamie Cuss headed wide.
Ashley Day had a great chance for the home side but he missed the target from a Mark Hibbard cross.
Simon Gwilliam could have broken the deadlock in the 42nd minute when Shifnal's defence half cleared a Jamie Edwards shot.
However, Gwilliam fired wide from the edge of the box.
Shifnal created their best chance on the stroke of half time but Cain's header from a corner was cleared off the line by Edwards.
Westfields continued to work hard after the break and Tom Harding shot wide from a good position.
The match appeared to be heading for a goalless draw until Allam was given a second caution after a sliding tackle.
Westfields had to reorganise their side and Shifnal scored the winning goal five minutes later.
Hibbard's free kick was cleared down-field by Shifnal and it caught the Westfields defence out of position.
Cain received a right-wing cross, took the ball in his stride and shot past home goalkeeper Jon Pugh.
Westfields brought on striker Mark Davis in the hope of salvaging a draw, but they could not find an equaliser.
