VICTORIA Watkins won the Hereford Times Cup for the best nett score at the Herefordshire County Championships at Sapey GC.
The 19-year-old, who lives near Ross and is studying sports science at Hartpury College, has been playing golf since she was six.
A hole-in-one on the 13th was not enough to bring Roz Eaton success in the Herefordshire GC ladies’ stableford.
Eaton had to be content with runners-up spot with her 30 points tally three behind winner Iris Corfield.

South Herefordshire’s junior team beat Monmouth 3½-2½ with wins for Niall Powell, Rory Gunning and Alex Moore and a half for Ross Barnett.
Lesley Colquhoun and Val Bland achieved creditable results in the Herefordshire County Championships with Colquhoun second in the nett competition and Bland runnerup in the bronze division.

Cradoc seniors were beaten 4-3 at Llandrindod Wells despite wins for captain Jack Massey and Lyn Greenway, Roy Morgan and Mike Mellors and Ron Rowsell and Dave Matthews.
Cradoc Seniors ‘C’ secured a 2-1 home win over Tenby V in the South Wales Seniors Classic and move into the quarter-finals of the tournament, alongside Cradoc ‘A’. Their winning pairs were Keith Manning and Cyril teasdale and Anthony James and Derek Lloyd.
Cradoc Hallets drew 2-2 at Mountain Ash where the winning pairs were Aled Lewis and Malcolm Prosser (2 up) and Aled Rogers and Martin Like (4 and 3).
Cradoc Wayfarers were beaten 4-1 at Glamorganshire GC where the only winning pair were Steve Mathers and Ken Morgan (two up).

Brecon GC pairing Martin and Tracy Higgins won the nett competition at the Brecon and Radnor County Golf Union mixed foursomes chamoionship at their home club.
Their score of 68 was well clear of Steven and Anne Lloyd (Builth Wells GC) on 71.5 and third-placed Peris Hughes and Heather Hardy (Summerhill) on 77. Another Brecon pairing, Richard Keddle and Barbara Lewis shot 82 to take the gross competition with Brecon secretary Pat McCarthy and Yvonne Abbot in second with 88 and Andrew and Karen Oakley (Llandrindod Wells) third on 89.
Brecon and Radnor county men’s seniors were beaten 9-1 at Denbigh by a strong North Wales Counties team where Cradoc’s Derek Lloyd and Dave Eddon were the only winners in morning nine-hole foursomes.
