Success for Sherrie Edwards in Brecon and Radnor Golf Union Ladies Championship

SHERRIE Edwards, of Builth Wells Golf Club, has gained her third straight success in the Brecon & Radnor County Golf Union Ladies Championship at Summerhill GC.

Her gross score of 88 saw her receive the Lord Glanusk 80-year-old trophy from Union chairman Pat Hart.

Edwards won by one shot from Ronnie Cresswell of Cradoc with Anne Lloyd of Builth third on count-back, also with 89.

The nett prizes went to a trio of Brecon competitors with Sue Marshall (70) winning from Maureen Griffiths (73) and Tracey Higgins (75).

Builth’s team of Edwards, Sheila Saer, Chris Hughes and Kay Coldrick totalled 371 to win the gross team prize.

The nett team prize went to the Brecon quartet of Liz Bush, Audrey Skyrme, Wimke Wakeley and Maureen Griffiths who returned a score of 315.
