Big turn out for South Herefordshire Golf Club's ladies' team open

SOUTH Herefordshire GC’s ladies’ team open was played in good weather and featured 13 teams including players from 11 clubs.
The winning team featured the host club’s Chris Rivers alongside James Helmes and Ros Jones from Moseley GC.
The runners-up were also a host-club team featuring Anita Leaver, Sue Palmer and Mary Sullivan with Lesley Colquhoun and Pat Knight (Nauhnton Downs, joined by Tewkesbury Park’s Jenny Williams in third place.
Men’s section Spring Cup, Division One: 1 Cino Paccagnini 42 pts, 2 I Officer 40, 3 T Beale 40; Division Two: 1 Malcolm Connah 42 pts, 2 J Round 34, 3 D Powell 33.

The home match against Rolls of Monmouth was halved; winning pairs were Derek Lloyd and Windsor Griffiths (5 and 4), and Rick Jones and Ivan Boreham (5 and 4) while Jack Massey and Bill Sisley and Colin Rosser and Dave Matthews halved their matches.
Cradoc Wayfarers beat Virginia Park GC 4-1 with the winning pairs Roger Jones and Tom Astle (4 and 3), Tony Payne and Tom Price (3 and 2), Alan Denning and Gary Jenkins (2 and 1) and captain Brian Nelson and Les Gwynne (7 and 6).
q Ross GC, Burns Trophy: 1 Mike Gardner 38 pts, 2= Kevin D’Lonra, Richard Topping 37.
Ross ‘A’ beat Tewkesbury Park 3½-2½ with the winning pairs being Jason Bolton and Ross Jenkins (6 and 4), Jamie Wilde and Harry Butler (5 and 4), Tony and Jake Howells (2 and 1) while there was a halved match involving Jacob Ashdown and Dave Gardner.
Ross ‘B’, under the captaincy of Colin Bennion, beat Tewkesbury Park 5-1.
Ross Seniors beat Cirencester 5½-2½ and drew 4-4 at Droitwich Spa GC where the points came from Doug David and Geoff Baker (won two up), Mike Harris and Richard Escolme (won 4 and 2), Richard Nightingale and Ken Vowles (won two up), Brian Clouder and David Rees (halved), and Graham Russell and Dave Thrower (halved).
