Belmont golfer Harvey Hancock is new Herefordshire Junior Champion

BELMONT golfer Harvey Hancock is the new Herefordshire Junior Champion.

Hancock carried off the Hereford Times Cup after a thrilling win over Belmont team-mate Jamie Roach.

The pare were locked together on gross 73 but, after a four-hole play-off, Hancock emerged as the winner by two strokes.

Alex Allan (Herefordshire GC) was in third place with a net 75.

The net prize went to Leominster's Ben Clarke (76- 10-66) by three strokes from Stuart Schneller of South Herefordshire (97-28-69).

Hancock and Roach were also members, along with Nick Hemming, of the Belmont trio who carried off the team title.

Ross golfer Ellie Ivall (88-16- 72) won the girls' net title.
