KINGTON’S Moray Mackintosh won the top prize - the Challenge Cup - in the 36-hole nett competition at the club’s Open.
Nigel Griffiths, from Ludlow, carried off the gross prize in the 36-hole gross.
Kington’s George Frost won the Madigan Cup, awarded to the player from Herefordshire, Radnorshire or Breconshire with the best nett score in the morning.

Viv Weaver, David Mains and Joe James produced a winning score of 85 points in Kington Seniors’ 6-6-6 competition.
John Weaver, Ken Canton and Mac Kidd finished in second spot with 78 points.
Richard Williams, Dave Weston and Bill Eaton took third place with 74 points.
The seniors’ disappointing run continued when they suffered a 5 games to 2 defeat at Bransford GC.
q Nigel Morris secured the Dave Barnes Cup, in the 0-18 handicap section, on a countback at Leominster GC.
Morris fired 74-6-68 to win the trophy, while Greg Bridges was second (79-11-68) and third-place went to Kevin Room (80-12-68).
Norman Greener carried off the Greenhorne Trophy for players with a handicap between 19 and 28.
Jimmy Lindsay carded 40 points to win the Seniors’ Newtown Cup.

q The Herefordshire’s Roy Joshua achieved the best gross, 76, in the 63-69 age section of the Shropshire & Herefordshire County Seniors’ Championships.
Shrewsbury’s Steve Howell was crowned the Shropshire & Herefordshire County Seniors’ champion.
q Despite wins from Pam Williams and Sharon Helps, Hereford Municipal suffered a 3-2 home defeat to Hilltop GC in the quarter-finals of the NAPGC Whitewebbs Trophy.
But Municipal bounced back to register a 3½ to 1½ win over Hilltop in the quarter-finals of the Hawtree Trophy.
Colin Morgan and Helps suffered an early setback before Averil Magee and Shaun Vivian halved their match.
Municipal rattled off the next three games for a good victory.
Pam Williams was the only lady to be successful in both matches after a 7&6 victory with partner Harry Magee.
Terry Robinson and Jenny Wildman and Christine Anning and Alan Leake were the other home victors.
The Hawtree competition is a pairs’ mixed foursomes event and Municipal will now play Leicester’s Western Park at a neutral venue.
The winners of that semi-final will contest the National Finals in September.
