KERRY Welding took the Silver Division in the April LGU Medal at Ross-on-Wye.

Welding finished with a winning score of 86 gross, 73 nett.

Denise Laird was second with gross 95, 73 nett, while Sheila Lawrence was third with 94 gross, 77 nett.

Sheila Hatherall triumphed in the Bronze Division with a gross 103, nett 75. Frances Nightingale was second with a gross 104, nett 76 and third place went to Maureen Turner (gross 99, nett 77).

Helen Palmer achieved the lowest gross score of the day, 83.

June Gulvin and Elizabeth Wood carded 29 points to win a tightly-contested Burghill Valley’s April Foursomes.

Ann Allen and Wendy Jones were second on a countback from third-placed Lorena Blower and Judy Hilton.

Ann Saunders and Elizabeth Williams teamed up to win the Coronation Foursomes with 27 points.

Lyn McCoy, with 75 points, was the winner of Division 1 in Sapey’s LGU, EF Medal and Putting event.

Diane Leadbetter triumphed in Division 2 with 73 points, while Diane Urquhart (74 points) won Division 3.

Barbara Passey fired 38 points to win the Lady Veterans’ Trophy at Kington.

Marion Weaver was second with 37 points, while Roma Watkins was third with 36 points.

We were wrongly advised that Betty Ashcroft and Audrey Fox had finished second in the recent Coronation Foursomes.

It was, in fact, Betty Ashworth who teamed up with Audrey Fox for the runners-up spot.

Margaret Welsh totalled 28 points to win the April ladies’ stableford at Brockington Hall.

Janet Mussell secured the runners-up spot with 27 points, while Rebecca Skipp was third with 25 points.

Barbara Andrews carded 107-31-76 to carry off the April medal.

Janet Parker (105-27-78) was second and third-place went to Barbara Morris (114-32-82).

Brockington ladies have played two home friendly matches in which they have beaten Kington and drawn against The Grove.

The club’s mixed section enjoyed an away day at Forest Hill where Terry Matthews won the men’s section and Maureen Brodie, the women’s.
