A TEENAGER who plays for Ross-on-Wye Golf Club has been crowned the British Schools Ladies Junior Nett Champion.
Abbie Bishop, 13, gained a gross 83, nett 57 medal school to take the title and reduce her handicap to 24.
The John Kyrle School pupil started playing golf when she was seven and joined Ros three years later.
Her game has flourished through the club's investment in young people policy, which is pioneered by head professional Tim Hall and his 'School of Golf' team.
"Abbie has fully embraced our School's 'continuous improvement' culture and her dedicated and committed attitude to skills practice as she strives to become the best that she can be, reflects so well on her personally," said Hall.
Abbie has already gained recognition through her selection for county training within the Gloucestershire Ladies County Golf Association, winning Under-14 best nett in the County Championships and in their Junior Olympics Open.
She was the overall winner, taking home a gold medal that was presented by England rugby player Charlie Sharples.
