STEVE Waters finally hit a hole-in-one after may years of failed endeavours at Ross Golf Club's Annual Seniors 60+ Singles Open.

With 18 of his fellow St Pierre Golf Club colleagues supporting the day, Waters' ace was tailor-made for some memorable celebrations afterwards.

His 36 points also enabled him to take home a prize for third place in the 14 to 17 handicap category.

The event attracted visitors from far and wide, but it was home player Mike Bradburn who took the spotlight, with his 42 stableford points score making him a clear and well deserved winner.

Bob Phillips from Clevedon GC, with 39 points, recorded the best visitors' score, followed by Clive Mackenzie from the Bristol & Clifton Club with 38 points.

Also scoring 38 was Ross player Nick Swan, while his colleague Adrian Berry (37) was also among the prize winners.

A total of £506 was raised for Make Some Noise, who help disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
