TWO county-based pro-am teams will tee off in a regional final next month.

Tim Kefalas and his Ross on Wye PGA Professional, Tim Hall, will join Robin Price and his Kington PGA Professional, Sarah Walton, in the Lombard Trophy competition at Little Aston Golf Club in Sutton Coldfield on June 7, one of 14 regional finals being staged across the UK.

They will be up against 64 other clubs with the winning club going through to compete in the 36-hole final at Portugal’s Pestana Vila Sol Golf & Hotel resort on the Algarve in September.

Price, a carpenter from Kington who plays off a handicap of seven, won the chance to have a go at qualifying for the final when he won his club qualifying competition with a nett score of 66.

Robin Price is a carpenter from Kington. He has been playing golf for 10 years and plays off a handicap of seven.

Walton has been a professional at Kington for three years.

Kefalas, meanwhile, won his club qualifying competition with a nett score of 69.

The 39-year-old has been playing golf for 20 years and plays off a handicap of 12.

Hall, his professional partner, has been a professional at Ross on Wye Golf Club for four years.

The Lombard Trophy attracts entries from more than 700 clubs across the country.
