BURGHILL Valley Golf Club's Liam Williams and Cam Probert have enjoyed recent success.

Williams came top in a Spring Cup event at Ludlow held at Ludlow Golf Club, while Probert finished fourth.

Williams won via a play-off after finishing on 148 points thanks to rounds of 77 and 71 respectively.

The scratch competition involved the best players in Shropshire and Herefordshire and saw Wrekin Golf Club's Joe Blunden finish with the same scorecard as Williams.

But it was Williams who got his hands on the trophy following his play-off victory.

Probert, meanwhile, had rounds of 72 and 78 to finish on 150 points and 10 over par.

Other county golfers who took part were Morgan Radziejowski, of Herefordshire Golf Club, who was 21st, and Rory James and Jack Jones, who compete for Burghill.

They finished joint 31st with a score of 172.

Williams and Probert were also picked to represent Shropshire and Herefordshire against Lancashire in Liverpool and won both matches, while the Burghill team - which also consisted of Rory James - won the Charles Lewis Trophy.
