ROSS Golf Club celebrated their opening winter event of the year with a 16-holes-and-a-putter stableford competition.
Despite the bitterly cold conditions, 52 members took to the challenge.
Jeremy Picton-Turbervill, who enjoyed a successful 2015 season, certainly felt at home.
This was reflected in a mixture of consistent play and good fortune, especially on the greens.
His 35 points score made him the deserved winner, but he was pressed hard by Steve Bartholomew, Scott Thomson and Peter Shaw, who all finished on 33 points.
A point further back was former seniors captain Richard Topping.
Events coming up for Ross include a three-man Florida Scramble team event and a better-ball pairs competition, while their annual dinner will be held on March 11.
