A NUMBER of junior players at Leominster Golf Club were recently presented with trophies following successful competitions.

Will Mee was winner of the May Medal and Summer Knock-out Matchplay Trophy, Tom Morris got his hands on the Nigel Clark Cup and carded the best nett in the Junior Championship, Jackson Merrick was the Junior Champion and winner of the Toyota Cup and Taylor Merrick claimed the Junior Captain's Day Cup.

Leominster captain Chris Dixon presented the trophies.

Elsewhere at the club, Bob Jones came top in a Winter Warm-Up Division Two contest after scoring 16 points.

Jones, who plays off a 17 handicap, beat Paul Chapman into second place, with Tony Wathen finishing third.

Division Three winner was David Sayers, who carded 17 points, ahead of Cyril Jennings (10) and Jack Cooper (8).

Richard Cattermole and Bill Brown's 62 saw them win the Seniors' Stableford Pairs, ahead of Kevin Rivers and Malcolm Clark, who scored 60.

Third place went to Brendan O'Brien and Kevin Room, who finished on 53 points.

Clive Malcolm came top in the Division One section of a November stableford competition, with his 37 points pipping Steve Fletcher (34).

Third place went to Dave Jones, who scored 32.

Andrew Chambers was the Division Two winner on 41 points, ahead of Trevor Perry (31), who finished ahead of Rob Tracy after a count-back.

Twos were scored by Brendan O'Brien, Andrew Chambers, Paul Emberton and Paul Merrick.

Individual best scores went to Ian Gullis (35 points), Roger Richards (32) and Taylor Merrick (34).

Leominster also held a President versus Captain versus Vice Team stableford contest.

The captain's team came out on top with 469 points, with the president's team (46)0 pipping the vice's team (451) into second.

And in a Four Clubs and a Putter contest, the Division One winner was Andy Merrick with 36 points.

Second place went to Kevin Gibbons (36), with Taylor Merrick (33) finishing third.

Chris Harris (38) beat Edwards Jones (35) and Chris Chadd (34) to win the Division Two category, with Gary Stinton (34) coming top in Division Three, ahead of Darren Mile (32) and Paul Lewis (32).

Twos were scored by Andy and Taylor Merrick, Andy Chambers, Kevin Gibbons, Chris Chadd and Kevin Room.
