A WELL-attended Ross Seniors Annual General Meeting enabled members of Ross Golf Club to show their appreciation to outgoing captain Richard Topping and to welcome David Williams as his successor.

Steve Martin has also been appointed seniors vice captain in place of Williams.

The 2015 season saw an increase in the number of players taking part in events, helping raise a record £1,049 to the Gloucester Multiple Sclerosis Centre and £335 for Ross Juniors Academy. Topping congratulated all seniors who had been successful in his year and presented the Over 75s Cup to president Neville Ovens.

The core of the seniors committee will remain in office for another year, with Alan Thompson as match secretary and Stewart Ross as treasurer.

Patrick Curtis and Tim Rigden also carry on as committee members, with Keith Ray looking after the administration as general secretary.

Graham Russell is also on board again to manage the club's Seniors Singles Open.

The 16-hole Greensomes Stableford preceded the AGM and was won by Mike Harris and Mike Ellis with 39 points, beating Paul Gibbons and Graham Ware and Philip Corcoran and Scott Thompson, who were joint second.
