LEOMINSTER Golf Club held a presentation day following the final trophy presentations of the year.

The prizes were handed out by president Roger Barrington and captain Chris Dixon, who was assisted by vice-captain Cyril Jennings.

Of the 34 trophies awarded, 12 were to young members of the club, reflecting their significant improvements and reductions in handicaps during the year.

Callum Gullis featured three times, once with his father Ian, while Will Mee, Keanu Barnett and Chris Pryce featured twice.

William Gore, who joined the club as a junior member in the spring, was presented with a trophy bearing Charlie Tune's name, in recognition of Tune's services to the club.

Kevin Gibbons claimed the Club Championship for the third consecutive year and brought his total wins to six.

Father Nigel and sons Ben and Tom Morris made appearances as did Andy Merrick.

But Merrick's sons Jackson and Taylor did not though sons Jackson and Taylor did not receive any awards, despite much success in non-trophy competitions throughout the year.

The most notable collector was Craig Brimmell who was awarded four trophies and a copy of his 67-5=62 card in the Ben Novus competition.

Not only was this the best gross card of the year but also the best as the course is currently configured and he was the deserved leader of the order of merit.

In his address, Dixon made special mention to the green's staff, who have prepared the course throughout the year.
