FIFTEEN-year-old St Mary's School pupil Liam Williams landed his first Ross major title after carrying off the Queen's Diamond Jubilee event .

Williams whose home club is Burghill Valley, headed a field of 118 players with a gross 81 medal score off his 13 handicap gave him the best nett score of 68 to head the final score-sheet by two shots.

His handicap was reduced by two shots as a result.

Result, nett event: 1 Liam Williams 68, 2 Shaun Reynolds 70, 3= Richard Kimp and Tim Kefalas 71; gross event: 1 Jamie Wilde 76, 2= James Price, David Barnard and Tim Wyatt 78, 6 Jack Layton 79.

Hereford pairing Paul Jones and Shaun Bufron will contest the Audi Quattro Cup UK Final at Bowood Golf & Country Club near Calne in Wiltshire.

The pair finished in runners-up spot in the regional qualifier at the St Pierre Golf Club, Chepstow.

The top-two “pairs” from the UK Final will represent Great Britain in the Audi quattro Cup World Final staged at the Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai (7-11 Dec).
