BEN Clarke triumphed on a countback to win the Tom Bishop Cup at Leominster Golf Club.

He carded 35 points to take the top prize from Kevin Gibbons and Jason Culwick.

Stewart Malcom was fourth with 34 points, while Richard Beaumont achieved the lowest gross with 76 and twos were scored by Mike Green, Paul Lane, Tony Selly and Alan Weaver.

In the April Medal, Julian Morris (70) picked up the Division One title, Edward Jones (72) came second and Ben Clarke (72) finished third.

In Division Two, Mark Price (69) beat Malcolm Davies (69) and Vince Fish (72) while John Callow (74) won Division Three over Mark Houchin (75) and Paul Emberton (76); Rob Brotherwood was the only player to score a two.

In the Senior's category Rich Cattermole (71) won Division One from Phil Lawrenson (72) and Ed Jones (73).

In Division Two, Dave Jones (69) defeated Jim Watt (71) and Brian Faulkner (72).

Jeremy Finney (73) won the Division Three title, ahead of Chas Tune (73) and John Southwell (77).

Twos were scored by Bill Brown, Brian Faulkner, Bill Harris, Phil’ Lawrenson, Gary Monk and Ken Watson.

Leominster lifted the prestigious Seniors Round Robin cup, seeing off their local rivals and winning six out of the eight games.

The four-man team edged Ross-on-Wye to the title – with Sapey and Burghill Valley rounding out the field.

Led by captain Alan Hooper and vice captain Terry Carver Leominster scored 39.5 to 24.5 against.

Team mates Ken Watson and Terry Bufton were also on hand to pick up the trophy at Burghill Valley Golf Club.

Herefordshire Golf Club: The first Texas Scramble of the Spring attracted 57 players, who played in perfect weather, notching a number of good scores.

Teams of three combined low, middle and high handicaps , with most groups managed to par the course or better.

The winners were Chris Harrison, Dennis Brown and Bill Sisley with a gross 66 (net 60.8), second were Peter Foskett, Roger Wardle and Greg Hanley with 67 (net 61.3) and Ray Jardine, Peter Timms and Colin King claimed third place with 68 (net 62.1).

In the captain versus vice captain charity match, the result was a resounding victory for captain Rick Shallcross who retained the cup having won it last year as vice captain.

The senior stableford at The Grove was won on countback by Derek Price (19 points) over Tony Langford (19), with Dennis Moore coming in third (18).

Nearest to the pin was Don Davies, with Birdie Twos scored by Bill Tuten and Rob Prichard.

Terry Weight (43) defeated Dave Weston (41) and Terry Inskip (37) in Division One of Kington GC’s seniors' summer round.

Dave Haley (36) won Division Two, seeing off second-placed Stan Arnold (35) and Richard Hill (34).

Jamie Thomas (66) was the Harpton Cup winner for 2014, while George Smith (68) took the Division One crown ahead of M Mackintosh (70) and Ray Evans (70).

In Division Two James Herdman (69) took first place, over Tim Davies (69) and Kevin Barnes (70) while Division Three was won by Les Baker (66) with Chris Croose (67) taking the runner-up spot ahead of Dai Morgan (68).

Best Lady was on the day was Ruth Alexander (69) - but Kelvin Alexander stole the show with a hole in one on the fifth hole.
