HEREFORDSHIRE’S tchoukball UK chief executive Phil Moore is going on the run in Portsmouth.
Phil, a former international tchoukball player, is putting on his trainers to compete in the Great South Run on Sunday.
Phil’s five-year-old son, James, is also running in the mini event and both will be raising money for HemiChat.
Paralympic swimmer Sascha Kindred is a patron of HemiChat and is proud of the pair’s efforts.
“When I was growing up there was not a lot of support for my mum to help raise a child with cerebral palsy,” said Kindred.
“Every penny that Phil and his son James raise means a lot to this charity, which helps parents share information and friendships.”
Moore, who is 40-years-old and works for HALO Leisure, started his training in May and has since lost more than a stone in weight.
“Most of my tchoukball training used to be based in Portsmouth and I spoke about completing the Great South Run but I always managed to get out of it,” said Moore.
“Training has been great with my running partner Lee Pritchard who has helped me through the bad times when I thought I just wasn’t going to get fitter.
“I now take my running gear whenever I go and I am exploring the wonderful countryside of Herefordshire.”
