Ross GC have revived their PGA Pro Am team event after a gap of 19 years and the top prize has gone to a quartet from the home club.

Jamie Wilde, James Hay, Tom Walker and professional Sion Bebb took the title with a score of 94 points.

The annual men’s open also went to a home player with 18-handicapper James Berry enjoying a win after shooting a nett 66.

Chris Merriman (70), Neil Lancett (72) and Paul Cresswell (73) were other home players to do well.

The Ross Golf Club course record has been smashed by one of Gloucestershire’s top players.

The south Herefordshire club were hosting the Gloucestershire Golf Union’s 97th men’s amateur stroke-play championship and Rodway Hill Golf Club’s Tyler Hegarty shot a remarkable gross 64, eight-under-par to shatter the record previously held by Jamie Donaldson.

Hegarty had to settle for fourth place, despite his remarkable round, with Andy Hale from Chipping Sodbury taking the title.
