WESTFIELDS extended their unbeaten run to five matches in the Midland Football League Premier Division after holding Brocton to a 0-0 draw at allpay.park.

Sean Edwards' side were without the suspended James Febery and injured Matt Reeve and Aidan Thomas, while Sam Plane was also unavailable.

Brocton came with an eight-man defended and frustrated Westfields.

Craig Jones blazed over the bar in the first half for the home side in the first half, while Kane Kahaki saw a header go the wrong side of a post.

At the other end, it took a brilliant Matt Gwynne save and a fine Sam Gwynne tackle to stop Brocton from taking a half-time lead.

After the break, Westfields did everything to try and unlock the Brocton defence, but the visiting keeper saved low from Jones then James Baldwin and Blaine Waugh both put over menacing crosses which were cleared by the big Brocton defence.

The visitors also tried hard to break the deadlock, but Kahaki twice made saving tackles as both sets of defences held strong to battle out a goalless draw and earn a point apiece.
