WESTFIELDS coach Andy Bevan said he was delighted to reach the next stage of the FA Cup.

The allpay.park outfit beat AFC Wulfrunians 1-0 to set up an away trip to Soham Town Rangers.

"I was pleased with the way the game went," said Bevan.

"I don't think we dominated totally possession wise, but in terms of chances, I think we did.

"We know we're not going to dominate for 90 minutes, these are good sides, but I thought we controlled it even when they came at us.

"We know it's a long trip to Soham and they're a league above us, but we'll go there with a game plan and as long as do what we do well, I'll be more than happy."

Matt Sysum wore the captain's armband in place of the unavailable Phil Glover and Bevan is delighted with how he has settled in.

"Matt has brought a wealth of experience and I've told the other lads that they need to learn off a player like that," said Bevan.

"He deserved to wear the armband and has been fantastic since he has come in."

Westfields will now prepare for back-to-back league games against Coventry United and Stourport Swifts before the Soham encounter.

"They will be very physical, but it's two games that are back-to-back and that's what we want," added Bevan.

"It's better than training and we'll try and get back to back points, that's what we're aiming for."
