WESTFIELDS captain Phil Glover believes now was the right time for the club to strengthen their squad.

Former Hereford defender Nathan Summers, prolific striker Nathan Hodge and versatile midfielder Alex Hainault have all come on board as Westfields look to kick on in their pursuit of Midland Football League Premier Division glory.

Sean Edwards' side's next two league games are at home against Loughborough University and Shawbury United respectively.

But they then face a run of four consecutive away games.

"Eddo and the management have brought in three top players at, what I think, is the right time with all the fixtures will still have to play," said Glover.

"Nathan Summers knows what it takes to win this league and adds quality to what i think is an already very strong defence.

"Nathan Hodge is a proven goal scorer at this level and was with us a few years ago.

"He brings bags of pace and is a real threat.

"Alex has trained with us while waiting for his international clearance and it looks like we have some player.

"They've all fitted in really well and the whole squad has got a lift from freshening a few things up.

"Andy Bevan has got us back on the training field regularly which we haven't been able to do lately.

"With the new signings and players like Sirdic Grant, Kane Kahaki and Aidan Thomas all back, we are raring to go and get stuck in to what will know doubt be a tight and demanding run in."
