WESTFIELDS manager Sean Edwards believes his team didn't deserve to lose against Coleshill Town on Tuesday night.

The Warwickshire side inflicted a 3-1 defeat on Westfields, which means Edwards' boys have it all to do to finish in the top three places of the Midland Football League Premier Division.

"We dominated the game and had about 80 per cent possession, we just weren't clinical enough," said Edwards.

"We kept the ball really well and got it back to 1-1.

"But they then hit a shot and it's taken a terrible deflection to go in.

"And then Kane Kahaki gave the ball straight to one of their players to score, but there was only about a minute to go.

"It was easily our best performance since Christmas and I cannot fault the lads for the effort they've put in."

Westfields were only able to field three substitutes, which consisted of coach Scott Jackson and reserve team players Ellis Davey and Joe Williamson.

"Ben Miller, James Febery and Jamie Saunston are all injured, Matt Reeve is in Germany, Sam Gwynne is away with The Army and Nathan Summers has decided he wants to finish his university degree and go for interviews so is unavailable," added Edwards.

Mykel Beckley opened the scoring for Coleshill in the 17th minute before Chris Ham levelled the game from the penalty spot on the hour mark.

However, Tom Weale restored Coleshill's advantage nine minutes from time before Reece Leek sealed the win.

It was Westfields' second defeat in three days after they fell to a 2-1 home loss to Rocester.

The visitors snatched the lead through Steve Wesson in the 29th minute when Summers' header from a free-kick fell into his path.

Rocester goalkeeper Richard Frogatt then kept his side in the game with a flying save to deny Aidan Thomas before Westfields did equalise.

Thomas drove down the left wing before crossing for Ben Hayes to tap home from six yards.

However, Westfields gave away another sloppy goal before half time when Seb Szondi converted a left wing cross.

"Again we dominated possession but gave away two sloppy goals from set-pieces," said Edwards.

This Saturday, Westfields go to Shepshed Dynamo before hosting Loughborough University next Wednesday.
