HEREFORD manager Pete Beadle said that his players have once again proved they can play right to the end of matches.

The Bulls needed a 94th minute Keyon Reffell goal to beat Biggleswade Town to go within a point of leders King's Lynn Town at the top of Evo-Stik South.

“It wasn’t a vintage performance and they made it difficult for us, but we also had some decent balls in the box and some decent half chances,” said Beadle.

“The lads kept at it and we’ve proved that we’ve got it in us.

“We did it at Slough and a few other places.

“And that is what pleases me that, even with the way the game went, they could have felt sorry for themselves, but they didn’t, they kept going.

“They will probably say that they deserved to have held on for a draw, but also, on the other side, I thought we deserved to win the game with the amount of pressure and chances we had.

“We knew it was going to be difficult and in the end, it took a bit of a messy goal to win it.”

Hereford found it difficult to create too many chances in the first half, with a Dara O’Shea header going over.

However, they were awarded a penalty four minutes before half time when a Gavin Hoyte handled the ball as he slipped trying to block a cross.

But Lance Smith’s spot kick was saved by the excellent Liam Gooch before the keeper thwarted Mike Symons shortly afterwards.

O’Shea again saw a header go over shortly into the second half before Biggleswade were reduced to 10 men in the 67th minute.

Connor Hall was adjudged to have elbowed Jimmy Oates and referee Sarah Garratt instantly brandished her red card.

Hereford then peppered the Biggleswade goal and the home side thought they had scored with 10 minutes remaining.

But the ball somehow stayed out after Symons’ lofted header hit the crossbar.

Gooch then tipped Bowen’s effort behind for a corner before Reffell grabbed the dramatic winner.
