HEREFORD manager Pete Beadle said that ‘big decisions’ need to be made ahead of the club’s maiden season in the National League North or South.

The Bulls don’t know which region they will be put into next season which will be decided after the promoted and relegated sides have been confirmed.

If Beadle’s side are in the north division they could face long trips to the North East and historically bigger sides including Stockport County and local matches against Kidderminster Harriers and AFC Telford United.

The Southern league is seen by many as the easier league and includes Weston-Super-Mare, Gloucester City and Bath City.

Beadle thinks that who is relegated from the National League Premier will have a baring on which league they are placed in with Guiseley and Chester already relegated the fight for the other relegation places remains between a host of sides.

“I think a lot of it will come down to who comes down from the National if they are Northern or Southern and obviously with us winning the league if Kettering or King’s Lynn wins the play-offs I thought they would be more northern than us,” said Beadle.

“It will all come out once everybody has finished. I think the travelling in the North would be more of an issue for us because of where we are. There are also some very prestigious clubs in that north with the likes of York, Stockport, Brackley and Kidderminster.

“So there is some really big clubs and would we fancy pitting our wits against them maybe? Or the south and we might not have to travel as far but there is some excellent sides.

“What will be will be in the end.”

With promotion looking likely for the last few months Beadle said that he has already been looking at players to bolster his squad for either division.

He added: “Now that we are where we want to be we have got big decisions to make regarding next season and a lot of that will come down to what division we are put in.

“Then we have got to start thinking about laying down a challenge for next year.

“A lot of players I have seen when other clubs have moved to the north they have lost a lot of players,

“Obviously our nucleus of players are southern based so when we have to travel north mid-week then it may not be something they can do.

“It might not be because they don’t want to but, their work, the hours and commitment that is needed.

“We can now have one eye on next season. We have already started that process and two months ago we sent somebody out at that level and watched games at that level and have a look at players.

“Have a look at one or two individuals that we have earmarked but now we can lay foundations and when the season comes to an end put them in place.”
