HEREFORD FC are confident that tomorrow’s game against Weymouth will go ahead despite freezing conditions expected tonight.

A team of ground staff are currently preparing the Edgar Street pitch ahead of tomorrow’s game, and groundsman Ben Bowen is happy that the pitch will be playable.

“The forecast isn’t too bad, it’s not meant to be as cold as last night, and the frost was out of the pitch by midday today, but we want to lay down the covers as a precaution, to give the game the best chance of going ahead,” Bowen told the Hereford FC website.

“The more volunteers we have to help, the quicker and easier the task of laying the covers down” said Bowen.

Temperatures are set to drop to minus two degrees tonight, before rising above freezing again by 10am tomorrow morning.

The club have asked for any volunteers to help them lay frost covers on the pitch this afternoon from 4pm as a precaution.

Volunteers will be needed again at 10am on Saturday to help remove the covers.
