HEREFORD FC are awaiting a response to a third transfer offer in their search for a natural sided left back.

As the Hereford Times went to print the club were awaiting for a response on an unnamed player to come in following the departure of James Bowen.

Manager Pete Beadle hoped that he would have an answer yesterday (Wednesday) and that the deal could be done by Saturday's FA Trophy tie against Weymouth.

Hereford were held to a 2-2 draw at Tiverton Town on Tuesday night when Jimmy Oates covered the left back position for the second match in a row.

"I feel the player we have made an offer for is worth chasing as he is a player we would really like to do something with," said Beadle.

"Jimmy (Oates) used to play left back at Hartpury College and he looked strong against Tiverton but it is not his natural position. It's not an area of concern but we want people playing in their proper positions."

Mike McGrath was the latest player to see red for a second bookable offence at Tiverton and will serve a one-match ban.

"I don't like talking about officials but there were a lot of things that I don't think were fouls for both teams," Beadle added.

"Mike gets sent off for dissent by saying 'how could you give that foul when you were 60-yards away?' to the referee. Players say far worse than that during the game and their manager was lambasted twice by the referee but nothing was done.

"We feel Mike was hard done by a little."
