NEWPORT County Under-18s manager Byron Anthony says Hereford FC have the capabilities of reaching the Football League.

Anthony – whose side beat United in the Community 6-2 today – was on loan at Hereford United during the 211/12 season in which the Bulls were relegated back to the Conference.

He then signed non-contract terms the following season, but was soon released.

"The club wants to be back in the Football League and, I think over time, that will come," said Anthony, who returned to

"They have steamrollered the last two divisions, but it's going to be a challenge now when they come to the next two divisions.

"It would be great to see Hereford get back to where it belongs."

Anthony said he arrived at Edgar Street during a challenging time for the club.

"I think I played 17 league games , so it was always going to be a challenge turning things around, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time here," he said.

"The fans were fantastic for me and it was a great experience.

"It was a great disappointment to find that the club had a winding up order, but they have come back stronger and it seems they are making great strides, not just on the pitch but off the pitch as well."
