MANY Hereford fans are speculating who will be the club's new captain following Joel Edwards' release.
Experienced players Rob Purdie and Ryan Green will almost certainly be in contention, while goalkeeper Martin Horsell has also worn the armband during pre-season.
However, could there be a case for popular right-back Jimmy Oates, who has shone during his two seasons at the club?
Talking to the Hereford Times, Purdie said he would love to be the skipper.
"Beads is looking at it over the course of pre-season to see who is looking strong," said Purdie.
"But with my history at the club, I would love to captain the club especially as I'm coming towards the end of my career.
"However, he will pick the right man for it and we will get behind whoever it is."
Beadle said that he will take his time in choosing who to pick.
"It's a big decision that is not taken lightly and we need to make sure we get the right person," he said.
