HEREFORD FC are to play their rearranged match against Didcot Town behind closed doors tonight.

The original match last month was abandoned shortly after Mike Symons had put Hereford 2-1 up.

A small number of Bulls fans then encroached onto the pitch, which led to some Didcot players intervening.

Further disorder occurred by the dugout as the players left the field.

Didcot player Sam Elkins and coach Sam Parish were subsequently handed banning orders totalling five and four games respectively.

However, the Football Association said that no further action would be taken against either club.

Didcot are only allowing a small number of media representatives for tonight's match, with the Hereford Times just one outlet that are not allowed to cover the game.

"It was decided by Didcot Town's committee to only allow a select few media personnel from both clubs to provide sufficient coverage of the match," explained Didcot in a statement.

"Didcot have advised Hereford FC of the arrangements and they have provided personnel who will be attending the game."

Hereford manager Pete Beadle says that it will be a 'strange occasion'.

"We've got to go there and win it, but it will be a strange atmosphere," he said.

"They were home on Saturday, whereas we had to travel to Taunton in the heat, and now we've got to play a game that we shouldn't have to.

"But we've got to play it and give it our best shot."

Hereford drew 1-1 at Taunton on Saturday and Beadle believes his side did enough to win the game.

"I thought we had the better chances in the second half," said Beadle.

"We dominated a lot of the play and had a good shout for a penalty.

"Even though a point was probably a fair result, I still think we had enough chances to win the game."
