HEREFORD FC manager Pete Beadle says a lot of decisions will need to be made regarding which players will be kept on next season.

The Bulls boss has masterminded back-to-back promotions, with the Southern League Division One South & West title secured at Salisbury last Saturday.

Hereford are almost certainly going to be placed in the Southern Premier League next season – just two divisions away from the National Premier League.

"It's going to be a tough summer because there's going to be a lot of decisions made on players for next season," said Beadle.

"Some people may be surprised about what happens or what doesn't happen, but we need to do that to keep evolving.

"We've got to do what we feel is best for the team and the club.

"At the moment we've done great and the expectation level won't be any different next season.

"But let's enjoy this year first and what we've achieved and see out the final games with a flourish."

Beadle realises a lot of fans will expect his team to be in contention for another promotion next season.

"One of the things I love about this club is the expectation," he said.

"You have to have a challenge.

"Ours is to evolve and to be better next season.

We can now start to plan properly, look at the squad and see where we maybe need to be better and improve.

"That is great because it gives us a few extra weeks.

"But that was always going to be the case whether we won the league or not.

"We are always looking to evolve the team to make it stronger and better.

"It gives us a bit of chance to have a look at some players to see what we need and to sit down and have a meeting with the staff.

"You look at some of the teams in the league above and it's mouthwatering."

Hereford have only lost once in the league this season and Beadle wants his team to finish the campaign strongly.

"It's no good not finishing the season off now," he said.

"It would be nice to keep it as 'one' in the 'l' column if we can, because that will be a fantastic achievement.

"So we've got to make sure that we don't let ourselves down by being a bit complacent."

"And I think they know that I wouldn't accept that."

Beadle added that he doesn't know whether he will give some fringe players some action in the remaining games

"We will look at what's best for the team," he said.

"I think there are one or two that have looked tired and it's been a long season already.

"So we may look to freshen it up a bit, but with the aim of winning the game.

"Everyone will want to be involved this week with the game being at home, so it's important we get the right balance and look at what we have.

"We may try a few new things away from home, but in the main the attitude has to be the same."

Despite Hereford dominating the league this season, Beadle believes it has been tougher than last year's campaign.

"There's far more better teams in this league," he said.

"No disrespect to the Midland League, that was tough but for different reasons.

"In the Midland League, you had four or five teams competing, whereas in this league, not only do you have the top teams competing, but you go down to the top 10 or 11 who are all competitive.

"I think we've had a fair rub of the green, which you have to have, and have had a bit of luck, but over the 36 games, we've been the most consistent and the best team in the division."
