HEREFORD FC are holding a number of initiatives to help raise £8,000 towards a piece of interactive sensory play equipment at the Children's Ward at Hereford County Hospital.

The club have already auctioned off an unworn Rob Purdie shirt from Wembley, which currently stands at £510.

Supporters have until this Sunday to place their bid and own the 'replacement' shirt that was available to Purdie at the FA Vase Final in May in which he scored Hereford's goal.

The shirt has the FA Respect badges on the sleeves, 'Purdie' and number 4 on the reverse and the unique embroidered Wembley Stadium written on the front, which is slightly different to the embroidery on the replica shirts.

The shirt also comes signed by Rob Purdie on the front and back and has a certificate of authenticity.

The club say that can also arrange the shirt to be presented by Purdie at Edgar Street ahead of a forthcoming home game.

You can bid for the shirt here

Hereford will also auction off exclusive prints donated by their team of matchday photographers, as well as hold bucket collections and coffee mornings.

Fans will also be asked for donations when purchasing tickets online.

The ‘magic carpet’ will give children of all abilities the chance to relax and play while spending time on the ward.

On top of the fundraising initiative, Hereford FC welcomed 12-year-old Kyle Sissons as special guest to Edgar Street last Saturday.

Kyle was nominated by staff on the ward as being a patient who deserved a treat for his positive attitude while spending time on the ward.

He enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the dressing rooms ahead of kick off, before leading both teams out onto the pitch prior to the Bulls' match against Salisbury.

Members of the Hereford FC playing staff and management will also visit the Children’s Ward in the days before Christmas to spend some time with the children and to hand out some gifts.

Stacy Edwards, play specialist on the Children’s Ward said: "We’re delighted that Hereford FC will once again be visiting us again this year.

"Their visit last year really helped to make things a lot easier for the children and parents on the ward and we’re already excited about their visit again this year.

"We’re also pleased and amazed that they have gone a step further and offered to try and help raise some much needed funds for us.

"The magic carpet is a fantastic piece of interactive play equipment that is suitable for any child’s development and ability.

“I know that the magic carpet would make a lot of children very happy and really help change their hospital experience for the better.”
