HEREFORD FC boss Pete Beadle says it's a shame that Sam Allardye has left his position as the England national manager.

Beadle played under Allardyce at Notts County and believed he could be the man to take England forward.

Allardyce left the post after only once game in charge yesterday following investigations by the Telegraph newspaper claiming he offered advice on how to 'get around' rules on player transfers.

"I played for Sam and when he got the manager's job, I thought it perfect because, if anyone is going to instil the passion, he would.

"He's a motivator and is also a very switched-on manager.

"But whatever has happened has happened and it's same old England isn't it?

"We feel as though we're making steps forward and then we take three steps backwards once again.

"I suppose it will be a case of, who will get the hotseat next?

"They will be extra double cautious now and we'll wait and see.

"But it's a shame because I was hoping to see him do well because I've worked with him previously.

"He's a top fella and a great manager, but unfortunately these temptations are there for players and managers now."
