HEREFORD FC manager Pete Beadle says his team have to forget what happened on Saturday and focus on winning their FA Cup First Qualifying Round replay against Romulus.

Referee Matt Smith was subject to a lot of criticism for his handling of the match, notably sending off Hereford striker Pablo Haysham after the Bulls player allegedly retailiated to a challenge.

Beadle says he has been informed that Smith will not referee the match.

"We are still in the draw and have got a chance to win the game tomorrow," said Beadle.

"May be we had an off day, but it wasn't helped by the way the game was officiated.

"But we've got to put it behind us and our focus is now on Tuesday."

Beadle says the club will wait until they get the full report before deciding whether to appeal Haysham's sending off.

As it stands, the striker will serve a three game suspension, starting at this Saturday's away league game at Winchester City.

"Sometimes these appeals are fruitless, so we need to make sure that, if we are going to appeal, we have all angles covered," added Beadle.

"Pablo feels there was no intent in anything he did and was just getting up and getting the ball for a free-kick.

"The players on the pitch didn't react and the ref has seen something that no one else has.

"The players had a struggle on the floor and Pablo and their player are trying to get to their feet.

"The ref obviously thinks it was worthy of a red card and was extremely quick in handing it out."

Should Hereford beat Romulus, they will return to Coles Lane and face Sutton Coldfield Town in the next round.

"We've had Alvechurch in the FA Cup, have got Salisbury in the FA Trophy and now we could be going back to Sutton Codlfield - you couldn't write it," joked Beadle.

"It will be a good test to see where we are, because they play in the league above, but we've got to beat Romulus first."

Beadle admitted that, even though Hereford have had a great start to the season, they are not converting as many of their chances as they should be.

"It is a concern, but we're still unbeaten," said Beadle.

Striker Jamie Cuss sustained a knee injury on Saturday and at this stage it is unclear how long he will be out for.

But goalkeeper Martin Horsell will be back for tomorrow's match after being unavailable on Saturday.
