HEREFORD Under-15s claimed an excellent 3-1 win against Worcester City to win the JPL National Cup.

A large crowd watched the match at Lilleshall, with many people supporting Hereford.

Worcester took the lead after 20 minutes, which resulted in Hereford making a small change to the tactics, bringing on Luke Marston who had an instant impact.

With four minutes to go until half time, a great move saw Liam Bishop break into the penalty area to finish well and level the game.

Hereford scored a goal at the start of the second half, but it was disallowed for offside.

Worcester continued to be dangerous on the break and hit a post direct from a Rhys Davies free kick.

Hereford then took the lead when another free-kick by Davies was headed home by Joe Mellars.

Liam Bishop sealed the win win with a 25-yard screamer eight minutes from time.

"Our target was to win the JPL National Cup in the next next years, now it is to retain it," said Hereford coach Liam Brewer.

"I am so proud of this group of players and our whole youth academy, who have all been brilliant this year.

"The under15s' success is achieved through a great team-spirit, friendship and willingness to work hard and support each other.

"A huge thank you to the Hereford supporters who made the journey up, it was fantastic to see Hereford shirts in the crowds."
