HEREFORD FC manager Pete Beadle felt Tuesday night's 3-0 win at Sporting Khalsa was one of the Bulls' best performances in a long time.

Beadle's men were excellent and restricted Khalsa to very few goalscoring opportunities.

The win kept Hereford 10 points clear at the top of the Midland Football League Premier Division.

"I thought it was our best performance, in terms of the whole game, for a long time," said Beadle.

"I thought we looked in control , the lads came with a real determination of character.

"In the warm-up, we knew it wasn't going to be the sort of game where we could get it down and try and play, but they did the basics really well.

"We kept mounting up pressure and eventually we got the goal.

"It was a battle, they are a big side, but I thought we were outstanding.

"I thought the whole of the back four were outstanding and marshalled their front two really well, the two boys in the middle of the park were great and the four boys across the front were phenomenal.

"I think the big thing was character and desire.

"They have only lost twice at home this season, but apart from the early part of the game, I thought in the second half we dominated the game."

Hereford captain Rob Purdie was also delighted with the win.

"We didn't give anything away – I think they had a shot towards the end of the game, but apart from that, they didn't really have a chance," said Purdie.

"For us, it was the perfect away performance, three goals, a couple of other chances and we didn't give anything away.

"I thought Jamie [Willets] and Greeny [Ryan Green] were different class – they mopped up everything for us and they kept the ball in their half."

Hereford opened the scoring through in the ninth minute.

Sirdic Grant burst to the by-line and delivered a low cross.

Sporting Khalsa goalkeeper Mihai Gherasim managed to palm it, but only to Joe Tumelty, who set up Pablo Haysham to roll the ball home.

Hereford were very comfortable in the first half and the home side hardly tested Martin Horsell in the Bulls goal.

The Bulls eased any nervous tension in the 58th minute when Mike Symons headed home.

And the win was sealed by a Purdie penalty.
