HEREFORD FC increased their gap at the top of the Midland Football League Premier Division to four points after a comfortable 4-1 victory over Brocton.

Hereford should have been ahead within three minutes when a long ball over the top released Mike Symons who cut the ball back to Mustapha Bundu who fired wide before minutes later Aaron Birch also fired wide.

Bundu swapped wings but was just effected this time cutting in on the left before forcing Callum Barrett into a save at his near post.

The Bulls deserved to be ahead and were on 14 minutes when Bundu fired them ahead from just inside the box.

With their first chance of the game the Badgers equalised on 22 minutes when David Berks’ cross found Jack Edwards unmarked and he curled the ball home.

It was nearly worse for the league leaders as a looping Berks free-kick was headed over his own by by Jamie Laird.

Pete Beadle’s side kept probing to regain their lead and Jimmy Oates should have when his free header flew wide before Sirdic Grant rattled a post moments later with a shot inside the box.

Hereford regained their lead after 52 minutes when Grant was bundled down while running into the box by Edward Booth and Bundu fired home from the spot.

Substitute Joe Tumelty set-up the crucial third goal with his first touch of the game cutting the Badgers open before playing in Symons to secure the victory.

Tumelty also set up Hereford’s fourth flashing his cross across the box which was tapped home by Jamie Laird as the hosts as they ran out clear winners.
