HEREFORD FC manager Pete Beadle says his players deserve a lot of credit after playing five games in 10 days.

The Bulls beat Brocton 4-1 today and are now four points clear at the top of the Midland Football League Premier Division.

"I just want to say, from my players' point of view, what a fantastic effort they have put in over the last 10 days," said Beadle.

"To play away at Long Eaton on a Thursday night and then away at Dunkirk on a Saturday, then at home on the Tuesday and another big game on Thursday - to play in the manner they did, hats off to them.

"They have done great up to now and we've got a nice few days' rest now."

Beadle said he wasn't happy at half-time after Brocton drew level, but was delighted with how his team pulled it around.

"I wasn't happy at half time, not because of the scoreline, but because we've got to be more ruthless," said Beadle.

"We could have been three-up even before we scored a goal.

"Sometimes, you get away with it, like we did today, but it could have been a lot harder than it was.

"But in the second half, once we got the second and third goal, you kill teams off a little bit.

Captain Joel Edwards and centre-back Nathan Summers were both missing today.

"Joel just jarred his ankle on Thursday," explained Beadle.

"He did feel a lot better today, but we've got players who can come in, so we don't need to risk it.

"Nathan just felt his hamstring a little bit, so it's a bit tight, but they're not major injuries, they're just injuries that are niggly.

"With only 24 hours in between the games if you like, it's ideal to give them a break."

Beadle also admitted that Mustapha Bundu, who scored twice today, can be 'infuriating' at times due to the amount of other chances he has in games.

"Mus is Mus. Sometimes you've got to put up with that.

"At times today, it wasn't great, but his two finishes were excellent and he could have had two or three himself before he even got on the scoresheet," said Beadle.

"But he's a young man - he's 18 years of age and so much is expected of him, you've got to bear with him.

"He's a young boy and is still developing his game.

"He has probably had more games at senior level this year than he's ever played and he's still a baby.

"But he's got another two goals today which takes him over 20.

"But sometimes he can be infuriating because you know what he's capable of. However, he's got his two goals, his performance was good and we're happy with him."

Hereford now go to bottom club Continental Star on Wednesday.

Star, who are already relegated, lost 7-0 at Heanor Town today.

"They've got nothing to fight for, if you like, so they might relax a little bit more," said Beadle.

"But we've got to make sure we go there and go and get the job done."
