HEREFORD FC chairman Jon Hale believes referee Robbie Dadley had no option but to abandon yesterday's FA Vase game against Leicester Nirvana.
The Bulls were 3-1 up at half-time, but with the rain coming down hard, the ref decided to call the match off.
"I don't think he had any doubt and we're certainly not going to argue with it," said Hale.
"The pitch during the first half just got worse and worse and, with the heavy rain, I don't think he had an option in the end.
"There was more of an influence with the standing water on the pitch and the game was being affected by it and rain was very heavy as the players went off at half-time.
"I think the referee was right to immediately come back out at half-time to look at and, as disappointing as it is, you can't try and play football on a pitch like that."
