WESTFIELDS, Wellington and Pegasus Juniors suffered bad defeats today, but Hereford Lads Club and Bartestree both picked up useful wins.
Westfelds lost for the first time this season when they went down 4-1 at allpay.park to a strong Coventry United side in Midland Football League Premier Division.
Lewis Rankin opened the scoring for Coventry in the 32nd minute before Mitch Piggon added a second six minuted later.
And it got worse for Westfields when Craig Reid made it 3-0 just before half-time.
There was time for Craig Jones to reduce the deficit before the break, but Westfields were unable to turn the game around in the second half.
Aaron Opoko sealed Coventry's win in the final minute.
Wellington, meanwhile, sustained an even heavier defeat as they were hammered 8-2 at home by Wolverhampton Sporting Community in West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division.
Dimitri Dunkley scored a hat-trick for the away side, while Daniel Scragg and Rion Francis-Mills netted braces.
Aaron Perrin was also on target, with Paul Jones scoring both of Wellington's goals.
Pegasus also had another heavy loss, this time going down 5-0 at home to Dudley Sports.
All of the goals came in the second half, scored by Myles Newman, Zaqib Hussain, Adam Skleton, Ryan Thomas and Matthew Hearsey.
There was good news for Hereford Lads Club though, who beat Tividale 2-1.
In Division One, Kington Town and Bromyard Town both lost.
Kington went down 3-1 to Team Dudley, while Bromyard were beaten 2-1 at Telford Juniors.
However, Bartestree won their first home game in Midland League Division Three.
Dave Cadwallader's side beat Coventrians 4-1.
