THE father of injured Pegasus Juniors striker Cory Hyde has thanked Wellington for the care they showed him.
Hyde sustained a serious knee injury 15 minutes from time of last Saturday's derby match in the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division.
His father Chris Hyde - who is the assistant manager at Pegasus - said he will have a scan once the swelling has gone down.
It is the third serious knee injury Hyde has had in his career.
"The care and concern by everybody at Wellington was fantastic," said Chris.
"It's nice that, even though it's a local derby, some things are more important than winning a football game.
"I would also like to say that I have been really grateful for the messages of support that a lot of people have sent."
The two sides will face each other once again tonight in a second round League Cup tie.
Kick-off at Wellington is 7.45pm, with admission priced at £4 for adults and £3 concessions.
