PEGASUS Juniors say that Anthony Robbins has been appointed first team player-manager due to the club changing having a different approach with regards the first team.

Robbins takes over from James Edmonds.

"After an indifferent start to the season Pegasus Juniors have appointed Anthony Robbins (Robbo) as first team player-manager with immediate effect," the statement reads.

"Robbo was released by Hereford last month and immediately signed for Pegasus.

"He is actively appointing his backroom staff and will take charge for the first time on Saturday, when Pegasus Juniors travel to Ellesmere Rangers in The Buildbase FA Vase.

"Robbo, who gained invaluable experience under Pete Beadle and Matt Bishop last season at Hereford, is tasked with moving Pegasus up the West Midlands league table and towards new goals and targets for the club.

"He takes over from James Edmonds who will remain with the club developing the young players.

"The club is hugely appreciative of Jamie's efforts over the last two seasons finishing a credible ninth in the league last season.

"Jamie worked superbly with the young players that have developed through Pegasus own youth set up and brought in top quality youngsters to strengthen the team.

"The appointment of Robbo sees a new direction and approach from Pegasus towards the senior squad.

"We will continue to support youngsters through the ranks but hope to offer more appeal to senior players in the coming years.

"The opportunity to appoint a manager with Robbo's potential is rare in Herefordshire and as soon as he was interviewed it was evident he was hungry for the challenge."
