Wellington Amateurs 0 Pegasus Juniors 2

TWO goals from top marksman Cory Hyde made it a happy trip to Oakengates for high-flying Pegasus Juniors.

The city side maintained their fourth position in the table after easing to victory with two well-constructed goals.

The visitors have now put together a run of eight straight wins.

And their dominance was such that goalkeeper Bryn Watkins was a spectator for much of the game without a save to make.

Juniors took the lead on 17 minutes when Hyde received a through ball from Ben Price and rolled his shot past keeper Ashley Rawlings.

Tom Dawson went close to a second, firing just over from a neat move involving Anthony Robbins and Keith Jones.

But the visitors did not have long to wait before increasing their lead with Jones heading a long Watkins clearance into the path of Hyde who scored off the inside of a post in the 38th minute.

Pegasus defended solidly in the second period with the unit of Jack Lewis, Dan Price, Paul Allam and Jamie Cuthbertson in excellent form as they kept their ninth clean sheet of the season.

And it was Juniors who had the best chances to score again with Hyde seeing a shot blocked by Rawlings after a fine six-man move and Kane Kahaki having a shot tipped on to the bar.
