Ledbury Town romp to 6-0 win at Wrens Nest in West Midlands League Division Two

LEDBURY joint-manager Chris Powell is hoping his team can maintain their good form after they thumped Wrens Nest on Saturday in West Midlands League Division Two.

A brace from Dan Herbert and strikes from Neil Gardiner, Tom Boyle and Scott Roberts saw Town home, while Wrens Nest helped them in their cause by scoring an own goal.

“It was one of the best performances of the season against a team that looked strong on paper,” said Powell. “We have been guilty of not taking our chances in the past, but now we are scoring goals and keeping clean-sheets, so you cannot moan really. The whole side is performing very well and every game it is hard to pick a man-of-the-match as six or seven players have been in with a shout of getting it.

“By Christmas we would have played half of the teams, so we can assess where we are then.

“At the moment, we are taking it a game at a time and to try and put a winning run together if possible.”

Ledbury will be hoping to maintain their good form when they host struggling Wolverhampton Sporting Community Reserves on Saturday.
