Away success for Pegasus Juniors at Lye Town

Lye Town 2 Pegasus Juniors 2.

LATE goals in each half deprived Pegasus of another West Midlands League Premier Division away win after the city side had taken a two-goal lead.

Juniors went ahead after just seven when the prolific goalscoring duo of Cory Hyde and Chris Mortlock turned provides set up Keith Jones to score with a header.

Twenty minutes later, Pegasus increased their lead thanks to a bit of good fortune.

Following a Paul Allam free-kick, defender Stephan Lodge was set to make the clearance but dithered before driving the ball against man-of-the-match Tom Dawson.

The rebound looped over the head of keeper Charlie Price and into the net.

Lye pulled a goal back a minute before the interval when an Allam header fell to Richard Anslow who scored from the edge of the area.

The home side dominated the second period with a goal looking more likely as the match progressed.

Finally, with nine minutes remaining, Lodge scrambled the ball into the net after Juniors keeper Mikel Corbisier had blocked a header from Steve Weaver.
