Wonder strike but Leominster held by Shenstone

Leominster Town 2 Shenstone Pathfinders 2.

A GOAL of the season contender from Keiran Davies was little consolation as Town blew a two-goal lead in their West Midlands League Division One clash.

Town struggled to find the form that staved off any relegation threat over Easter, despite dominating Shenstone from the off.

A 1-0 lead that Steve Williams had given the Briarwood Boys by half-time should have at least been doubled. And when Davies’s dipping 25-yarder flew into the net, the points seemed secure.

This superb strike, though, was the cue for Shenstone’s fightback with Town opening the door and inviting the visitors in.

For Town, the final whistle felt like a loss, leaving the Briarwood Boys to pick themselves for the big finish that does their recent form justice.
