HEREFORD boss Jamie Pitman welcomed back Joe Colbeck after suspension to take on the Railwaymen.
Colbeck replaced Rob Purdie in the only changed from the side which picked up a useful point at Port Vale last Tuesday.
Purdie was named among the substitutes with new loan signing Jason Price, the Carlisle United striker.
Crewe, as well as including former Bulls loanee Dany Blanchett, also included two players called Ashley Westwood – one in central midfield, the other at centre-back.
Hereford: Bartlett; Green, Townsend, Stam, Heath; Colbeck, McQuilkin, Lunt, Featherstone, Leslie; Fleetwood. Subs not used: Hoult, Kovacs, Rose, Purdie, Price, Patulea, Fairhurst.
