LANCE Smith continued his rich vein of form as Hereford made it five wins on the bounce with a 3-0 victory against Chesham United.

The 26-year-old marksman scored for his third game on the bounce before Jennison Myrie-Williams scored the club's 100th league goal to seal the victory in the second half.

"I've reached the 25 goals mark which I set myself at the start of the year but I want to get to 30 and think I can with the form I'm in," said Smith.

"I'm playing well getting assists so I can't really complain. Steve Jenkins (Assistant manager) just said to me I should be getting two or three a game now and I had a couple of chances but they'll still come to me and I feel confident in front goal.

"The two defeats gave us a kick up the back side and we knew we needed to perform again and get this run going. Going from left to right I like being a front man in the 18-yard box and some of the balls from Rob (Purdie) at the back post is just easy.

"One of the traits of my game is I never give up and always give 100 per cent. There was a couple of times the goalkeeper rolled it out so just gambled really."

Pete Beadle's side dominated from the outset against Chesham and took the lead on eight minutes after Smith headed down a Ryan Green free-kick for Keyon Reffell to fire home from a tight angle.

Smith then turned from provider into goalscorer four minutes later latching onto an Elliot Richards' cross and taking the ball away from the defender before firing home.

Despite a dominant performance Bulls' didn't kill the match off until the 67th minute after Smith's saved shot was rebounded back to Myrie-Williams.

"Two-nil is a horrible score as the next goal is so important but the second half barring the one Will Puddy save he wasn't troubled, said Hereford manager Pete Beadle.

"We're so pleased with the players and what they've done as they look strong, quick and fit and at the moment in a really good vein of form. The strikers have been great we talked before the game that we want to be top scorers and have the best defensive record and gain the most points, we will continue to do that.

"Last year when we won the league with six games to go we didn't have any let up but every single one of the forward players have all played their part this year Lance (Smith) has got a nice amount of goals John (Mills) got his goals early and has been hampered by his knee. Jennison has come in and contributed, Keyon and Mike have also so we have lots of threats on the pitch to get to 100 goals again with five games to go is a hell of a feat."
