LADS Club manager Danny Moon hopes that his youngsters will shine on the big stage and move onto a higher standard of football.

Moon's side came from behind to beat Wellington 3-1 in the first of the County Cup semi-finals on Tuesday night. They meet the Hereford FC or Ewyas Harold in the Edgar Street final.

"It means a lot to the club as there are so many young lads and 80 per cent played in the final against Hereford last year and we hope to do a bit better this year," said Moon.

"We have got a lot of young lads still and we have got a bright future. We have got three or four lads who are good enough to play at a higher standard and they are in the shop window for me.

"We're not holding onto them, we want to put them out there and show that they can play."

However, it was Wellington who took a 37th minute lead with Andy Price pouncing on a loose corner. Lads Club who had started slowly responded immediately and were level two minutes later when a free-kick went through a crowd of players before being prodded home by Jamie Cuthbertson.

Two Lads Club youngsters then combined to take a 43rd minute lead with Ashley Lear racing clear before squaring the ball for Adam Hockey to slide home.

The victory was secured after the visitors were awarded a penalty and Rory Worthing made no mistake from the spot.
