Thought of losing again will spur on players, says Beadle

Pete Beadle's side sit 10 points above their visitors with a game in hand following Tuesday night's 4-0 victory at Gosport Borough.

However, the visitors stunned Beadle's side in January coming from two goals down to clinch a last-gasp 3-2 victory.

Since that defeat Hereford have won seven games on the bounce and Beadle says the loss was the best thing to happen to his side.

"It gave us that kick up the back side we probably needed and since then you have seen us be a little bit different, said Beadle following Tuesday night's victory.

"Sometimes you need that and it's the best thing to happen to you. When you get beat like that it's a shock to your nervous system and not how you have been set-up. When it happens it's not a nice feeling and the boys don't want that feeling again.

"Saturday won't be about getting revenge but performing as we have done since then. If somebody said with 12 games to go you would be 10 points clear with a game in hand and all the teams around you have got to come to you as well you would bite their arm off.

"On the form we have shown against Weymouth and again tonight (against Gosport Borough) if we continue this it's going to be really hard to beat us but we do know that teams have off days sometimes."

After a dominant opening at Gosport Borough, Beadle's side were ahead after 13 minutes with Mike Symons heading home from a Billy Murphy cross.

Despite having most of the possession it took them until the 64th minute to double their advantage when Jennison Myrie-Williams was played through by Symons and slotted home for his second goal in as many games.

Dara O’Shea made it three on 71 minute picking his spot after Pablo Haysham passed to him in space and just a minute later it was four with Symons heading home again when unmarked inside the box.

“At 1-0 they were always in the game but second half we blew them away and were crisp and slick," added Beadle.
